Our Purpose

We are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health services through a neuroaffirming lens. We respect and support diverse cognitive, sensory, and relational experiences, and we strive to create spaces where neurodivergent individuals and families feel seen, validated, and understood.

Our Mission

To provide personalized, evidence-based therapy that’s collaborative, and genuinely supportive. We honor diverse ways of thinking, communicating, and regulating, and we create an environment where clients can show up authentically without being pathologized or taught to learn masking skills to fit into society easier.

Our Vision

To be a trusted leader in neurodivergent affirming care for children, adults, and family systems, where mental wellness is prioritized, stigma is reduced, and everyone has access to the support they need to thrive throughout Arizona and in our local community in Tucson.

Behind The Branch

The name came about as a reflection of new beginnings after having my daughter Olivia and rediscovering myself in the midst of motherhood

The olive branch has been a symbol of peace, understanding, and possibility. By figuring out who you are and why you struggle, you can then start to figure out what is possible and available to support and accommodate your needs.

Sometimes identifying neurodivergence can help give you permission to accept and appreciate who you are rather than what you think you should be to everyone else and slowly remove the mask that’s been so heavy to carry.

Our mission is to offer a space where individuals and families can feel understood, validated, and supported to live their most authentic and fulfilling lives.

    Systems and Routines

We work with you to develop systems, routines, and a dependable structure to create more stability and groundedness in your life. Looking at how the neurodivergent brain has different needs and thinking outside of the box on strategies that feel reasonable and friendly to your brain.

    Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT supports intense emotions, meltdowns, and sensory overwhelm through nervous system mindfulness-based strategies. Instead of pushing compliance or masking, we focus on understanding the underlying need, and draw from tools and skills that support regulation.

Next to the bed, a small wooden table holds a potted plant, a metallic teapot, a mug of coffee, a snack bar, and a yellow furry blanket is draped across the bed.

    Meeting Sensory Needs

We can help you figure out what sensory issues are challenging you while finding tools, skills and strategies to self soothe, minimize triggers, learn to communicate limits, and improve emotional regulation and reduce meltdowns. Learning to also unmask and allow sensory needs to be visible can be a huge relief.

    Developmentally Focused

We assess the emotional and cognitive capacity of individuals to create attainable and appropriate treatment goals. We involve family and supports in the process of understanding their child’s needs and see parents and caregivers as the most vital part of a child’s growth and progress.

    AutPlay/Play Therapy

Through Sand Tray, play therapy, art therapy and other creative outlets including AutPlay, we rely on hands-on learning and playing to explore emotions, thoughts, and reactions. Whether in person or telehealth, we find strategies to engage children in n a sensory-friendly manner that utilizes all parts of the brain.

    LGBTQIA+

There’s a strong correlation between being neurodivergent and part of the queer community. We take this informed approach when helping support LGBTQIA+ with a focus on creating meaningful goals that align with lived experiences, societal position, cultural background, and core values.
