Hi, I’m Madison, a therapist working with teens and adults ages 13 and up, and I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can actually be yourself. My own path to becoming a therapist wasn’t exactly linear. After nearly a decade as a stay-at-home parent, I earned my Master of Counseling from Arizona State University and found a career that genuinely feels like where I’m supposed to be. I also bring lived experience with anxiety, depression, and being diagnosed with ADHD later in life. Finally having a better understanding of my own brain changed the way I saw a lot of my experiences, and it’s a big part of why I’m passionate about helping people better understand themselves rather than constantly feeling like they need to “fix” themselves.
My approach is person-centered, affirming, and flexible. I especially enjoy working with anxious overthinkers, LGBTQIA+ clients, neurodivergent folks (including those diagnosed later in life or just beginning to wonder), and people navigating identity, depression, burnout, or major life transitions. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter therapy, so I pull from different approaches depending on who you are and what actually works for you. I want the therapy room to be somewhere you don’t have to mask, perform, or come up with the right answer. There’s room for the hard stuff, but there’s also room for humor, curiosity, cursing, weird tangents, and figuring things out together. You’re allowed to be a whole person here.
Outside of therapy, I’m a mom to a hockey-playing son, servant to a senior cat, and a big fan of books, music, fantasy, science fiction, and disappearing into fictional worlds whenever possible. Arcane, The Witcher (only the seasons with Henry Cavill), and The Lord of the Rings are favorites, and I will stand by my belief that The Mummy is basically a perfect movie. At the end of the day, I want therapy to be somewhere you can explore what it looks like to build a life that actually fits you. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you get here. Come as you are, and we’ll go from there.
